Carry Water. Always carry your own water. If you are sure there will be water at your destination carry just slightly more than sufficient water to last until you arrive. Water is of greater importance than food to your survival. Always filter any water you find along the trail and that you are in need of using - unless the water is from a natural spring. If you can fix a long drinking straw to the water bottle so you can drink as you move the better.
From the Mexican border to Manning Park British Columbia Canada took 151 days. It was an experience I will never forget. God showed me His faithfulness and provision every step of the way. The friendships made on the hike are very special the shared experiences of the joys hardships and dangers of the trail made for deep and lasting bonds. I could not have completed the hike without the help of many of those I spent a lot of time hiking with. Others added a rich dimension to the experience and made it a delight even through the difficult times. I give thanks to God first and then to each one that He provided to make the hike such a wonderful experience.
Rope. The rope is a very important mountain hiking gear and for it you will be using a specialized rope. If you are lead hiking then you will tie the rope to your harness this way you will carry the rope with you as you ascend the mountain. You can place bolts and carabiners into the surface on the mountain in order to tack the rope onto it. This way if you are using a belay device and there is a hiker hiking below you will be able to catch your hiking partner in case of a fall.
