Health Concerns and Safety. If your teen has any health concerns such as allergies asthma etc. be sure that the youth camp staff is aware of these. Again most summer youth camp registration forms will have a section for you to provide this information. Also be sure that any medications your youth needs are sent to the camp along with them. You may be able to pack them in their bag but some camps will not allow a teen to keep their medications in and around the bunk. If possible place the medications in the original containers then pack them all together in a clear plastic bag that is properly labeled. This would not apply to emergency inhalers but it is something to clear up with the camp staff before your teen leaves for summer youth camp.
Camping toilets can enhance our camping experience a lot. As in other areas in our lives the small things are those that count and the same can be said for camping toilets. Most camping toilet facilities that are available in camp sites are usually poorly maintained and not very clean. Although when camping it is understandable that you‘re not going to be able to keep your personal hygiene levels like you can at home but a certain minimum is also required when camping. This is where portable camping toilets come into play since they enable us to avoid the usage of dirty toilet seats thus reducing our exposure to potential pathogen bacteria that reside on uncleaned toilet seats.
Planning to attend summer camp. The time to really start thinking about summer camp is in fact the middle of winter - say January. If you are looking for an overnight camp this is the time to start looking at camps and mentally preparing for summer camps. While children may be tenuous about spending a week or two weeks at an overnight camp far away from family and friends looking at them early in the year can help prepare all family members for the eventuality. Many camps start filling up with registrations at this time and they begin promotion long before the summer. If you want to be sure to get in to one of these camps (which have limited space always) then you need to register early.
Conclusion: A camping trip can be a very eventful and fun experience hopefully one of many that will have you camping over and over again. May all your camping vacations and outdoor activities be successful.
